About Soapfield

Hello and welcome!

This summer, I had a lot of fun making soap with my family. What started as a simple household project quickly became something much more — not only was it creative and enjoyable, but it was also a fantastic way to learn together about science, safety, and hands‑on skills.

Living in Dublin, Ireland, I’m lucky to be surrounded by many wonderful local ingredients and materials that can be used in soap‑making. Exploring these natural resources inspired me even more to continue experimenting and sharing what I’ve learned.

Through these experiences, I realised how valuable soap‑making can be as an educational activity and a creative hobby. I also noticed something important: making soap safely and successfully requires some knowledge of calculation — especially when working with ingredients like caustic soda and oils.

That’s why I decided to create SoapField. Here, I share:

  • A soap calculator to help you get your recipes right.
  • Step‑by‑step guides for beginners.
  • Safety tips to make sure your projects are fun and risk‑free.
  • Recipes and ideas that you can try, adapt, and make your own.

My goal is to make soap‑making easier, safer, and more enjoyable for anyone who wants to give it a try — whether you’re experimenting at home with family or starting a new hobby for yourself.
